Breaking Bad Season 3 Episode 3: IFT
This episode opens with a flashback to Tortuga, drinking. This scene establishes that the Cousins killed him, and were probably responsible for the whole turtle/bomb thing too
I like how Danny Trejo is a "special guest star" for one pre-credits scene where he gets decapitated.
Skyler comes home with Holly to find out Walt has come back home, against her explicit instructions
Walt is so casual about moving back in, even to Skyler's face. He's genuinely incapable of realizing what he's done wrong in this situation, or that Skyler has every right to want him out of her house. Walt is also fine with using his relationship with Walt Jr as a bargaining chip, by holding the fact that Walt Jr is happy when Walt's there over Skyler's head.
Walt is very good at looking respectable for the cops, and framing Skyler as irrational. He's extended that from his criminal activities, into his life, and he sees his home life as a similar battleground.
Saul is trying to bring Jesse back into the drug trade,to bring Walt back. Jesse's just tired of being used
The Cousins have brought Hector to a Pollos Hermanos chicken farm, to meet with Gus. They want to make it clear that Walt is on the cartel's hit list. Gus says that he is still working with Walt, and once he's done with Walt, they can deal with him.
Jesse is routinely calling Jane's voice mail, just to hear her voice.
Skyler is still dealing with Walt, and she confesses Walt's crimes to her lawyer. She refuses to go to the police, because she doesn't want Junior to know, even though that would stop Junior's idolization of Walt and make her life easier. She's actually thinking about the feelings of her family, not just how those feelings affect her, unlike Walt. She does, however, think she can hide things from her family, and it'll all work out.
Hank is trying to find a way to say he doesn't want to go back to ElPaso, without saying why he doesn't want to go back to El Paso, because that would make him weak. He ends up getting in a bar fight to feel in control again.
Jane's number has been disconnected, so Jesse can't call her voice mail anymore. With her gone, he goes back to the RV, since it's all he has left.
Walt gives Skyler the money, and tells her he did everything for them. The next day at work, Skyler and Ted end up having sex, initiated by her. That night, when Walt shows up again and insists on staying for supper and making supper (so she can't get rid of him without disadvantaging herself) she frankly tells him about the affair. While Skyler sleeping with Ted and telling Walt about it to hurt him is not a good thing, Walt's actions just in this episode are much worse, and it's hardly surprising Skyler would lash out. Again, it's not great, but I'm still on her side
