The focus of this episode's opening gradually narrows: from the landscape shots, to following the car from a distance, to the camera being placed in the car with Walt. The establishes Walt's loneliness on this journey.

Walt singing along to "the Horse with No Name" indicated how he percieves himself, as a dangerous outlaw who needs noone and is beholden to noone. This is immidately overturned when he gets pulled over. Walt tries to use the flight as an excuse for his broken windshield, only for the cop to say that he was a first responder on the scene, putting him higher up on the totem pole than walt. When walt tries to intimidate the cop, he gets pepper sprayed for his trouble. RIght now, Walt is at a low point, where he's more pathetic than anything.

Hank is trying to figure out what the destruction of the migrant truck means.

Jesse is driving here. obviously the driver's seat symbolism doesn't need to be on all the time, it's just interesting

Jesse finds out his parents are selling his old house. His dad is courteous enough, but he's talking to Jesse like an acquaintance.

Walt and Saul have completely different priorities. Saul thinks Walt should just be glad Skylar can't go to the police, because of potential blowback, but Walt is upset because he's lost his family.

We see Mike with his granddaughter at the park. Walt's not the only one with a family, or a double life

Walt Jr is back to using that name, because he's missing his father, and he doesn't understand Skyler's reactions, especially since she hasn;t explained anything to him.

Hank is surprisingly insightful about Walt's true motivations (needing to feel alive and like he's done something),even if his conclusion is "Walt had an affair". Marie is more in tune with SKyler's feelings, and she thinks if it was "just" that, she would have heard it by now.

The twins are back, and they see Hector. they have a way worked out how to communicate with him, so they're obviously familiar with him. He indicates Walter's name to them

Skyler is trying to deal with Ted's crimes. SHe's obviously taking out some of her issues with Walt on him, including asking what he'll do if his kids find out.

Walt can;t deal with Skyler hating him, but he also can't deal with Walt Jr saying he hasn't done anything wrong. He knows he's done something wrong, he just can't deal with it

Saul uses Jesse's parents' desire for respectability against them. They were concerned with covering up the meth lab, rather than reporting it, so now he can use it to blackmail them.

OH MY GOD ITS THE PIZZA SCENE. I don;t have anything to say, this scene is just very good. (i've also heard it only took one take, so the cast and crew had an impromptu pizza party with all the extra pizzas they're thought they'd have to use)

And, while Walt spends the whole episode being very pathetic, Jesse finally comes up on top for once.
